“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.”~Eleanor Roosevelt
Our body is designed to be in a state of balance or what is called homeostasis. It is what I refer to as a state of peace. When we are in a state of imbalance, our metabolic functions may or may not be able to recover from stress or injury based on our capacity to re-balance and heal. Interestingly, various health complaints including both symptoms and disease may have their roots in similar chronic imbalances even though they may show up as different symptoms and diseases.
If you struggle with chronic inflammation and/or pain, it’s likely that the root causes may stem from diet, lifestyle, and/or environmental factors. What shows up may be symptoms for example such as pain, headaches, migraines, anxiety, depression, insomnia or diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or any autoimmune disease. Let’s face it, neither symptoms nor disease is normal.
It is important to realize that you can take control of your health, and may be able to even reverse disease with appropriate diet and lifestyle and by addressing chronic internal and/or external stress. Committing to the challenge of detective work and a more natural/integrative approach that a FDN® practitioner health coach can provide, may help support you with more natural approach to healing. If you are ready for this challenge and the work of changing your health behaviors, you may be successful addressing the root causes of pain and inflammation and decrease risk of disease(s).
In my experience, changing your health behaviors is an ongoing journey. It takes commitment, time, and patience. Believe me, I am continuing this journey myself and am so glad as I’ve seen tremendous value and progress!
While it does take making an investment in your health, the goal and desired outcome is to restore balance and prevent further health issues later. It requires coaching and support to address mind, body, spirit, and relationships. Many people struggle with taking action after they leave their provider’s office. Some expect prescription medications will be the cure. Don’t fall into that trap. Don’t expect a quick fix. Do expect that you will need to work on a number of aspects of your health. Do expect that there may be some ups and downs and the goal is to achieve an upward trajectory. It takes working on the right pieces of your health to achieve peace and a higher state of wellness.
The Peace x Piece Formula:
So, here’s my PxP formula: Peace [achieving reduced inflammation and pain] x Piece(s) [changing health behaviors]=Wellness [overall improvement in health]
