Healing Chronic Pain

Healing chronic pain can be challenging. It’s usually not as simple as using one approach to treat the problem. While physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, massage, and other therapies can do wonders to relieve pain, many times pain recurs, and often may be worse, or other symptoms can start to appear.

That’s why it’s important to get to the root of the issues. As I shared in my recent blog/newseltter, the foundational roots of wellness include diet/nutrition, rest/sleep, exercise/movement, stress management and supplementation where needed. Pain is a symptom of inflammation and when the foundational roots are not supported well, over time, this can effect our metabolic processes, resulting in what is referred to Metabolic Chaos®. Inflammation often has more than one root cause resulting in imbalances in the body systems.

Because our body seeks to maintain balance (homeostasis), when our metabolic processes are imbalanced and the body is no longer able to achieve balance, disease and symptoms occur. Because the body is resilient, this can potentially take years to occur, as the body continues to rebalance until it no longer can and your body systems are no longer functioning as designed. This means that reversing any condition and expecting a quick fix is often not realistic.

It takes commitment, patience, a positive mindset, expert detective work, and coaching support to find what metabolic imbalances are hidden inside the body. Just throwing supplements, pain medications, or temporary solutions will not reverse the underlying condition.

The functional labs and coaching packages that I offer are designed to get a broad snapshot of imbalances in hormones, immune system, digestion, detoxification, energy, and nervous system. Through identifying physiological imbalances with functional labs not used by traditional providers, hidden clues can be uncovered and correlated with the client’s symptoms and experience. Then, a personalized protocol is developed to rebalance the metabolic systems.

I believe that you can heal chronic pain. I also believe that holistic approaches including those that help clients find relief are important. However, it is important to correct underlying metabolic imbalances to find a long term solution that will help a person feel better, move better, and live better.
