Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for Peace. Peace is really a state of mind with where you are in your current situation. Rather than be constantly angry or frustrated or stressed about your current situation consider taking your current state for what it is. Why should you do this? Well, chronic stress wreaks havoc on your body, resulting in inflammation, and yes, over time, disease.
This doesn’t mean you need to be happy with your life situation and not do something to get to a place where you would like to be. It means to have gratitude for what is going right or find meaning in your current situation and make peace with it.
It’s not always easy reflecting on where you are at in life, especially when everything seems to be going in the wrong direction for where you’d like to be. That said, it is important to learn to let go of what you cannot control and make amends with the past so that you can move forward with living. Peace is about seeking calmness and tranquility in the storms of life. At this Thanksgiving time, come in from the storm and find a moment, a day, or an ongoing commitment to find peace.
